About 13 kilometers north of Strömsund, on road E:45, you come to a turn-off, signposted Backe. Turn right there and drive about 4.3 kilometers to a southbound minor forest road. On this forest road you drive about 4.5 kilometers to reach the reserve.

Welcome to Malmån. Please note that within the reserve it is not allowed to:

• capture, disturb or harm mammals, birds, frogs and reptiles, as well as damage their nests and spawning grounds or collect eggs,
• pick and collect species of any kind, except berries and edible mushrooms
• climbing nest trees or deliberately staying closer than 100 meters to a bird of prey's nest, lair or burrow
• damaging the ground, boulders, vegetation, dry trees or other dead wood
• make fires, other than with firewood, and
• drive motorized vehicles in terrain except on existing snowmobile trails
