Opis
Vapnö mosse is an untouched bog complex surrounded by oak and beech forest. The landscape is hilly with forested ridges sloping down towards the bog. The rich nature with deciduous forests, bogs and marshes forms a valuable mosaic of different habitats. The reserve is inaccessible and is not suitable for outdoor recreation.
Vapnö bog is located in a rift valley and is surrounded by heights. Marshes, gungfly (gungfly is a carpet of living and dead plants, peat, driftwood and more floating on the water), open rice bogs and forests that border the bog form a mosaic of different environmental types. The movement of water in the area is unaffected, which means that the wetlands have been preserved. This valuable environment is home to many rare wetland species. For example, the orchids marsh marigold and marsh helleborine grow here, the latter of which only grows in this location in the county. To the east of the bog, heather moorland has been preserved, and the red-listed hair-grass, Halland's landscape flower, grows here.

W celu ochrony rezerwatu przyrody, County Administrative Board podjął decyzję w sprawie konkretnych przepisów, w tym tych, które jako gość w okolicy musi przestrzegać i szanować.
