Malmaön

Malmaön became a military area in 1916, while houses and recreational areas grew up on Fågelbrolandet, Malmaön remained undeveloped. This means that visitors have access to a large untouched natural area. In 2019, the nature area was thinned to restore it to its original state in collaboration with the County Administrative Board. In the future, there will be cattle that preserve the cultural landscape by grazing. From the southwestern part you have a lovely view of Nämdöfjärden.

On the northern tip of Malmaön is Korshamn Nature Reserve, which is about 2 hectares in size. Within the reserve there are several giant pots, the largest of which measures 6 meters in diameter
