On the way up to the highest point of the trail you walked over a very smooth rock. It is a place that has been worn down by the ice sheet. The view from here disappeared long ago when the trees grew up.

Instead, you can study the many junipers that are found up here on the dry mountain. Pick and dry the juniper berries. They add a delicate flavor to any meat dish.
