Klosters bruksmuseum

Klosters bruksmuseum is located in the old stables next to Klosters manor. The museum tells the story of Klosters bruks history from the oldest time, when a Cistercian monastery was built on the site at the end of the 15th century, to the gunpowder era, when Kloster was Sweden's largest gunpowder mill. Then there was the ironworks era, which lasted until the end of the 19th century. Alongside this was agriculture with meat production and successful cattle breeding. Cooperative ideas were also present early on in Kloster, where a trading post was run under cooperative auspices. The museum was expanded in the summer of 2020 with an exhibition on the history of Kloster Manor Park from the 18th century to the present day. The exhibition also contains information about the nature reserve, Klosteråns dalgång.
