Fänforsen

Fänforsen in Björbo is a wild and rugged stretch of rapids that, with a length of 900 meters and a drop of 9 meters, is considered the largest river rapids south of Norrland.

A natural resting place where you can fish, it is also a meeting place for rafting trips. Fänforsen is the home course for a large part of the Swedish elite in whitewater paddling, and competitions in freestyle, canoe slalom, downhill races and kayak cross are organized here every year.

It is also possible to have a cup of coffee or a bite to eat in the restaurant, which is open all year round.

To ensure a natural stock of noble fish, catch-and-release fishing is practiced. Everything taken out of the rapids is returned to the rapids. The initiative has been very successful, and the renowned fine fishing attracts visitors from far and wide.

There is a shelter and barbecue area.

During the summer months there is a short hiking trail of a few hundred meters next to Fänforsen, where Björbo's association Konst i byn (Art in the village) arranges an outdoor exhibition every year. Preschools, daily activities, professional artists and amateurs make the walk a gem. In small and large, you will encounter works of art in various places along the walk, which is easily accessible to everyone.
