Omschrijving
Experience Blekinge's coast as the birds see it...
Tjurkö is also called the island of the stonecutters because there was an extensive quarrying activity going on. The most spectacular quarry is Vrålebo. Here, among other things, convicts had to work. The business was most extensive at the end of the 19th century and a bit into the 20th century.
The film is commented in Swedish, but there is also the option to add English subtitles in the menu.
See more films about the Biosphere Reserve
This film is part of a series of drone films that the organisation Blekinge Archipelago produced to increase knowledge about the connection between the natural and cultural environments in the Biosphere Reserve. Through these films, it is possible to experience a number of known and unknown areas along Blekinge's coast - in the way that perhaps a sea eagle sees the coast. In the films, we mix information and images concerning both culture and nature.
These films can be used in several different ways, for example to be inspired to further journeys within the Biosphere area at home in the warmth of the cabin. But also during a hike or kayaking, you can get a wider overview of the area you are in directly via the ARK56 app.
