Beskrivelse
Friluftsfrämjandet Munkedal runs this Approved Canoe Center which is scenically located at the beach. Here we rent out canoes and sea kayaks to individuals and groups. It is also possible to rent Modalenstugan.
In the summer, the canoe center is staffed, other times canoes can be booked by appointment.
The canoe center Kaserna is a great starting point for paddling on the more than four mile long Flottarleden which was an old transport route for timber to Munkedal.
The canoe center is open weekends from Saturday 17 May 2025.

Fakta
The Bohusleden hiking trail goes past the Canoe Center and nearby there is a shelter and the Modalen overnight cabin. The cabin is booked through Friluftsfrämjande Munkedal.
Parkering
Sommar/höst 2025 utför Vägverket reparationsarbeten av den gamla bron precis vid Kanotcentralen. Besökare som kommer med bil från Munkedalshållet till Kanotcentralen får parkera på anvisad parkeringsplats och gå sista biten (ca 200 meter).
För besökare som kommer norrifrån finns parkeringsplats vid Hembygdsgården Kaserna. Det är också här man kan långtidsparkera.

Address: Kaserna 8, Munkedal.
Directions: From the center. Drive Bruksvägen towards Hedekas. Drive past Arctic Paper AB, turn right. After 300 m turn left towards Valbo Ryr. Continue 1.5 km. Canoe center on the right side. From Uddevalla drive towards Hedekas at Kvistrum. Drive 3 km, continue straight past the school on the right towards Valbo Ryr. Continue 1.5 km. Kanotcentralen on the right side.
**In the summer of 2025, the Swedish Road Administration will carry out repair work on the old bridge right by the Canoe Center. Visitors arriving by car from Munkedal to Kanotcentralen must park in the designated parking lot and walk the last bit (about 200 meters).
For visitors coming from the north, there is a parking lot at Hembygdsgården Kaserna. This is also where you can park long-term.
Forskrifter
The Flottarleden canoe trail runs through Strömmarnas nature reserve. Special regulations apply here.
