Beskrivelse
In Fermansbo primeval forest you can walk among old trees where lichens hang like long beards from the tree branches. On the ground, shimmering green mosses spread out like large soft carpets. If you are interested in birds, you can see and hear both common and unusual birds in the forest and on the moors. The mires are also beautiful for skiing in winter. If you visit the reserve in the fall, it's easy to fill your basket with both mushrooms and berries!
The northern part of the reserve burned in the great forest fire of 2014. Fermansbo primeval forest also borders the Hälleskogsbrännan nature reserve. You can walk between the two reserves via a footbridge over a bog.

From Ramnäs you continue Bergslagsvägen north. About two kilometers from Ramnäs, turn right at the sign for the nature reserve. A small gravel road leads to Fermansbo urskog.

Welcome to visit the nature reserve!
There are rules that you as a visitor must follow. The rules are there to protect the area's natural values.
It is forbidden to:
- make fires,
- ride bicycles or horseback,
- climbing trees or otherwise intentionally disturbing wildlife
- breaking branches, felling or otherwise damaging living or dead trees and shrubs, and damaging vegetation or natural objects in general, for example by collecting herbs, grasses, mosses, fungi or lichens, with the exception of edible mushrooms and berries for domestic use,
- collecting insects or other invertebrates
- using a radio or other sound device in a disruptive manner
- putting up a board, sign, poster, markings or permanently marking out tracks
- bring an unleashed dog or other stray pet.
