Satsfjället topptur

From the Satsfjäll parking lot, the hike begins on the trail towards Borgafjäll and soon turns towards the top of Satsfjället.

In the mountain birch forest you pass a couple of streams, which can be difficult to cross during snow melt and persistent rain. Before the trail reaches the bald mountain, there is a barbecue area with a nice view of Kultsjödalen.

Then the trail is roasted over the mountain ridge to the top, 1,103 m.a.s.l. The magnificent 360-degree view is the reward.

An alternative to going back the same way is to round Satsfjället to the south and go down to the windbreak at Satsån. This route is steeper and there is no marked path to follow.

Skiing on Satsfjället

In winter, the road is not plowed all the way to the parking lot. There is no marked ski trail to Satsfjället.

From the turning area, the top of Satsfjället is relatively easily accessible for your own skiing excursions and for off-piste skiing. The summit is most easily reached by starting through the sparse mountain birch forest below the mountain and then via the ridge to the top. Avalanches are common, especially on the south side.
