Småfjällen-Gieråjvvie-Stabburet-Rävfallsstugan-Aitenjas-Guolets, Närleder Ammarnäs

The local trails start from Ammarnäs Nature Center, where there are trail descriptions, information and experienced guides. This trail goes over Småfjällen-Gieråjvvie-Stabburet-Stuorajåbba-Rävfalsstugan-Aitenjas-Guolets-Vuodnávággie-Höbäcken.

Follow Kungsleden north up the slalom slope. At the top of the Småfjällen mountains, an impressive view of Ammarfjället and Mársevággie, a bird sanctuary, opens up. More than 100 species of birds live and nest in the protected wetland. In the past, meadows and bogs were mowed up here.

At Gieråjvvie you can choose to turn off the trail down towards Vuodnávággie and the suspension bridge at Höbäcken, 3.5 km, or continue towards Stuorajåbba. A nice detour from the trail is to walk 1 km to Stabburet, an old Sami hut. The trail then passes the legendary horse stone on the way down to Voutsbäcken, which offers good fishing waters.

The trail continues along the Vindel River in Vuodnávággie with good fishing opportunities. Along the trail is the Aitenjas mountain herd. Here, hay meadows were cleared at the beginning of the 20th century and in the 20th century the people of Ammarnä began to move their cows up to the herd shed during the summer.

At the bridge over Guoletsbäcken there is a sign "Guoletsfallet 1,6 km" pointing up into the forest. Here a path leads into a very old pine forest. Many of the pines are from the 18th century and some from the mid-17th century. In Guoletsbäcken there are two waterfalls, one lower and one upper.

At Höbäckens parking lot, the trail continues to Ammarnäs along the river.
