Dåruotjåhkka-Sorgestjärnarna-Årjiele Biergienas, Ammarnäs närleder

At Vindelfjällen's nature center in Ammarnäs you can get information about the local trails. They have trail descriptions, information and experienced guides. This hike starts from Biergienas and goes via Dåruotjåhkka to Sorgestjärnarna and Årjiele Biergienas.

You can get up to Biergienas by car. Start by following the four-wheel drive road north. Where the road meets the trail, turn east, Mieskattjåhkka and Dåruotjåhkka are good landmarks. After a kilometer or two, turn south and follow the trail towards the beautiful Sorgestjärnarna. It's a nice place to rest and swim.

After the lakes you go up to the top of Årjiele Biergienas. The soil is rich in lime and there are many interesting vascular plants. Up to 80 different kinds of flowers can be found here. In early summer, it's mostly mountain anemones and later on, rock veronica and various orchids. The view is wonderful.
