Beskrivelse
This section, which starts by Häggeby Church, takes you on a hike across the Skohalvön Peninsula to the magnificent Skokloster Castle.
To begin with, you’ll follow the country road for 2 kilometres to the village of Måttan. The trail splits here. The path northward is part of the Skoklosterslingan Walk (31:1), but the main trail continues eastward along Lake Mälaren. Along this part, you’ll walk on paths through rocky and rugged terrain, up on small hills, and down through beach forests. The lush broadleaf forest sometimes allows you a view of the water. You’ll pass two swimming and rest spots, Söderskogen and Ӧsterkvarn, along the way before you reach Skokloster Castle, one of Europe’s foremost baroque palaces. There is a café in the castle, and next to it is Skokloster’s petrol station with a café and grocery shop.
Difficulty level: Medium, country roads and paths, sometimes slightly rugged and rocky.

Parking is available at Häggeby Church and at Skokloster Castle.
Kommunikasjon
At Häggeby church there is a bus stop. The same bus continues out to Skokloster Castle. Some tours do not go all the way to the castle but stop at the stop "Skokloster slott vägskäl". From here it is about 1 km walk to the castle. For bus numbers and timetables, go to www.ul.se
Veibeskrivelse
From road 263, turn off where it is signposted towards Skokloster, a bit east of Varpsund. Follow the signs to Slottet. If you want to get to the parking lot at Häggeby church, take the first road to the left, after turning off road 263. Follow the road to the church.

Jättemysig men tuff slinga. Kuperad terräng och ibland mycket branta stigningar. Absolut värt svetten i pannan. Rekommenderas, jag gick från Måtta.
Superfin led med varierande terräng! Vill du slippa gå längs med bilväg går det utmärkt att ta busen hela vägen till Söderskogen Vägskäl istället för att kliva av vid Häggeby Kyrka eller Häggebylundsvägen. Vi gick från Häggebylund till Skokloster på 5 h, inkl badpaus och 2 lägre raster.
