Smultronställe Äppelnäsgrund i Härjarö

Surrounded by forest is the cozy swimming area Äppelnäsgrund. There is a small sandy beach, grassy areas for play and picnics, a fire pit and firewood. From the parking lot you walk 800 m along a path through the forest to get to the bath.

Äppelnäsgrund is located in Härjarö Nature Reserve, on a forested peninsula in Lake Mälaren. Härjarö offers a wide range of activities for those who want to do something active.

After swimming, you can take a walk into the forest to pick berries and mushrooms or just take a nice forest walk. Härjarö has many hiking trails that take you through the hilly landscape. Upplandsleden passes Äppelnäsgrund and you can, for example, hike it down to Österby udd, 4 km. It is a pleasant walk along a forest path right near the lake. The paths are sometimes rocky with roots sticking up. Good walking shoes are recommended.

The path from the parking lot down to Äppelnäsgrund contains roots and stones, which makes it difficult to walk with a stroller.

Äppelnäsgrund is one of Uppsala County's natural treasures. A nature spot is an area with high natural and outdoor values that is accessible to visitors.
