Smultronställe Hjällsjön

Hjällsjön is located outside Söderfors and is a secluded part of the Dalälven. On the southern part of Kärringön there is a picnic and barbecue area on the shore of Hjällsjön. A fishing pier leads from the picnic area all the way across to the other side of the lake.

The road from the parking lot down to the picnic area and the first half of the fishing pier are accessible to wheelchairs and strollers. From the parking lot it is 400 m down to the picnic area.

**Go for a walk

The area around Hjällsjön is popular for walking. There are paths here from Söderfors community and you can also follow unmarked paths around the whole lake.

Fishing in Hjällsjön

In Hjällsjön, Söderfors Hedesunda fiskevårdsförening organizes so-called Put and take fishing where they put out rainbow trout that can be fished up by those who have purchased a fishing license. Read more about fishing licenses in Hjällsjön

**Nature around the lake

The forest west of Hjällsjön is around 130 years old. There are many old large oaks, pines and aspens. The forest is in parts a so-called deciduous swamp forest, a biologically very valuable and special environment that is important for many species.
