Linnéstig Husbyvandringen, 16-20 km

In and around Uppsala there are eight Linnaeus trails, reconstructions of Linnaeus' own excursion routes. Husbyvandringen winds its way from the city's neat parks, out to rolling fields and dark forests.

The walk starts at the intersection of Sysslomansgatan/Skolgatan, in the center of Uppsala. To begin with, you follow the Fyrisån river. Frogs, insects and birds thrive in the lush greenery along the river. During the early summer, blue and yellow seas of Uppland valerian and Russian rue grow here.

You pass Stabbyskogen and walk a bit along the winding Librobäcken. The last part of the route is largely along a country road. The path ends at Börje church. From here there is a circular loop of 7 km. The loop runs along both forest path and country road.

If you want to walk the entire hike, it is 16 kilometers long, just over 20 with the circular loop at the end. The hike is on trails, bike paths and roads. Along the way there are seven junctions to discover. At the junctions there is information about the place and the opportunity to call Linnaeus and hear him talk about what the landscape looked like in his time.
