Beskrivelse

The Florarna nature reserve is a real wilderness with vast marshes, old-growth forest and small lakes. The shy lynx lives here, owls hoot in the spring night, and the forests are home to grouse, capercaillie and wolverine. In the fall, the cloudberries light up the bogs with their bright yellow berries.

You can walk for a long time through forests and across bogs on paths and tracks. If you want to get off the beaten track, it's best to come here in winter and ski out over the frozen moors. A loop of the orange-marked Upplandsleden trail runs through the reserve. The trail is 10 km long and you can start at Stormon in the southern part of the area, or at Risön. Risön is a campground located in the northern part of the reserve. A bit further west is the croft Västergärde. Both can be rented for overnight stays by contacting the County Administrative Board.

The trail takes you past several nice resting places with fireplaces and benches. If you want to go for a shorter walk, there is one of 4 km that starts from Stormon. At the old farm Vika in the southern part of the reserve there is parking and a rest area. Here you can also get down to Vikasjön.

Kommunikasjon

By train and bus or just bus: The train stops at "Örbyhus station". The bus stops "Tegelsmora kyrka" and "Prästarby" are close to the reserve boundary and roads can be used to access marked trails. The bus stop "Österbybruk bus terminal" is the starting point for Upplandsleden stage 12, which ends at Risön in Florarna. Find the best way to travel on ul.se.

Veibeskrivelse

The Florarna nature reserve is located north of Österbybruk and Örbyhus in northern Uppland.

By car: If you come from the south, Stormon is the nearest starting point. Take road 290 or 292 to Österbybruk. From there you continue to Film from where it is signposted towards Florarna and Stormon.

From the north, Risön is the nearest starting point. From road 76, turn off towards Örbyhus, opposite the entrance to Lövstabruk. After 6 km there is a sign towards Florarna.

Forskrifter

Within the reserve, it is prohibited to:

  1. collect mosses, lichens or wood fungi except for single specimens for species identification
  2. collecting insects or other invertebrates, with the exception of collecting them by scooping or picking individual specimens for species identification,
  3. deliberately disturbing wildlife, for example by climbing a nest tree or taking close-up photographs of a bird's playground, nest, lair, burrow or other nesting place
  4. make a fire or barbecue in a place other than that designated by the County Administrative Board,
  5. bring an unleashed dog or other loose pet,
  6. ride horses other than on roads,
  7. erect a hut,
  8. drive or set up a motorized vehicle, caravan or trailer other than on roads and parking lots,
  9. operate a motorboat or other motorized craft except on Lake Finn
  10. land with an aircraft
  11. set up permanent markings, signs or similar or make inscriptions,
  12. without the permission of the County Administrative Board, use the area for organized competitions or exercises or the equivalent, with the exception of small-scale activities for outdoor life and nature tourism that may be carried out in consultation with the reserve manager.

Intressant iakttagelse att vare sig Upplandsstiftelsen, Länsstyrelsen eller Naturkartan fortfarande inte har de nyrenoverade stugorna med på kartorna. Inte många som hittar dit då.
