Reservatet omfattar en rad öar i Norra Björkfjärden, 8 kilometer sydväst om Bro. Det är bara möjligt att nå öarna med båt på sommaren eller på skridskor när isarna ligger.

To protect the Norra Björkfjärden nature reserve, there are rules you must follow.

In the reserve it is forbidden to:

1. enter the water area up to 100 meters from the island of Kalvskär between 1 April and 15 July
2. destroy or damage any solid natural object or surface formation by drilling, hacking, blasting, carving, painting or the like
3. break branches, fell or otherwise damage living or dead trees or shrubs and damage vegetation in general by digging up rice, herbs, grasses, mosses or lichens
4. disturbing wildlife (e.g. by climbing trees, catching or killing mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians)
5. bringing dogs or other pets that are not on a leash
6. camping or mooring a boat in the same place for more than two consecutive days
7. make a fire in a place other than the designated place
8. drive a motorized vehicle on land
