SAT Runmarö

Runmarö is the island that is so close to the mainland but makes you feel so far away as soon as you come ashore, the tranquility washes over you. The stage is long with various rewards along the way, 18.5 km of archipelago idyll.

Gravel roads through open pasture landscapes take you to forest roads through sparse settlements, you get to experience small villages that make you think about how people lived in the past, you are led into paths through magical forests, you find lakes that attract swimming and you get to experience the sea and the archipelago outside. Hiking along the trail on Runmarö is a long, wonderful day that you end best at Restaurant Svängen. Opposite Svängen, you can buy bread at the bakery or have a coffee before you move on. You can also have a coffee at Solberga gård, which also has kayak rentals. Runmarö has a grocery store, school, restaurant and bakery.

You want to stay on Runmarö.

The stage starts at the quay in Styrsvik. From there you walk east on the gravel road to the shop. Around the corner, a smaller road goes north and takes you clockwise along the trail around the island. Then you get to experience Runmarö in the right order.

When you have almost completed the entire stage, you will come to Restaurant Svängen and the bakery opposite. Take the opportunity to stop to crown a good day.

On several occasions you have the opportunity to turn off and make your way back along gravel roads if you do not want or have time to walk the entire stage at once. Don't miss the view out over the sea at Nore.

You can also get off the Waxholm boat at Gatan or Långvik. From there you join the trail and follow it clockwise.

The Runmarö, Sandhamn and Nämdö stages are very well connected as they all start from Stavsnäs on the mainland.
