Beskrivelse
Mälarskogen nature reserve is located along Lake Mälaren, from Norsborg in the west to Slagsta in the east. It is a natural area close to urban areas that is easily accessible to many residents of northern Botkyrka. The reserve consists largely of woodland. There is also a small water area and a few small areas of meadow and grassland. There are many large old oaks, plenty of footpaths and trails, older coniferous, mixed and deciduous forests, and a number of species of mosses, lichens and fungi that benefit from older forests with long continuity.
Bird life is rich, and no less than ten different bat species have been observed in the area. Bats thrive in this varied environment, with coarse hollow trees, denser shrub vegetation, buildings and stone structures, and proximity to water.
Part of the waters of Lake Mälaren are included in the reserve, in the eastern part outside Slagstabadet and Korpberget. This is a site for the underwater plant small swallow, which is a priority species in the Species Protection Ordinance. The rare fish, the common minnow, has also been observed here.
The area is rich in ancient remains from the Bronze Age and Early Iron Age. Among other things, there are ancient settlements and burial sites.

If you go here by car, there is parking at Slagsta badet. There is both parking disk and paid parking.
The bus stops Lavendelvägen, Hallunda Gårdsväg, Hundhamravägen, Lugnets väg and Norrskogsvägen are within short walking distance to the nature reserve.
There is bicycle parking at Slagsta badet and by the water at the end of Hallunda Gårdsväg.
Forskrifter
Regulations pursuant to Chapter 7, Section 30 of the Environmental Code
In addition to regulations and prohibitions in laws and regulations, it is prohibited to:
- digging, hacking, drilling, blasting, carving, painting or otherwise
damage rock, soil, stone or the sea bed,
- cut down or damage living or dead trees or bushes and take
remove horizontal trunks or branches with a diameter greater than
10 centimeters,
- digging up plants such as rice, herbs, grasses, mosses or lichens, taking
remove woody fungi, collect insects or remove aquatic vegetation.
Picking flowers, berries and mushrooms for personal use
is allowed, as well as collecting for teaching, nature monitoring
and research,
- making open fires or using barbecues on other than designated
designated place,
- bring an unleashed dog, exceptions apply to hunting rights holders
and dogs used by the authorities in the performance of their duties,
Without the permission of the municipality it is forbidden to
- camping for more than two consecutive days,
- organizing group activities with more than 50 participants, such as camps,
orienteering or cycling competition
- putting up a sign, poster or similar device.
