Beskrivelse
A few miles south of Västerhaninge, the Häringe Peninsula juts out from the Södertörn coast. Here you will find one of Södermanland's most species-rich deciduous forest landscapes. Together with Hammersta Peninsula in Nynäshamn, the area is both a nature reserve and a Natura 2000 site. Fields, pastures and seashores alternate with high mountain peaks and magnificent deciduous forests. An interesting feature of Häringe's nature is the large number of large oak trees that remain from the time of the Swedish Empire. Barn owls and bats thrive here, and as many as seven bat species have been observed in the area. The area is best known for its great wealth of rare plant species. In the rich deciduous forest at Byholmen, one kilometer south of Häringe Castle, lungwort, wild balsam, goldenrod and carpets of musk madder grow together with orchids such as soapwort and nettle root.

Nice, but quite wet in spring. Beautiful views on the water, especially the resting place in the south.
