Gävsjö gransumpskog

In the rich and varied Gävsjöskogen forest east of Vallentuna town there is a spruce swamp forest. This biotope (plant and animal environment) is characterized by large old spruces, alder with root bases and water mirrors. It is an environment for imagination and relaxation. There is plenty of dead wood and dry trees. Parts of the area have probably been victims of forest fires, as charcoal can be found here and there. This is a so-called key biotope with signal species such as green shield moss, scripted lichen, stump moss, barley knot moss, fern, woolly tick and wood tick.
