Årsta slottsstig - Fornstigen 5 km

NOTE! THIS TRAIL IS UNDERGOING CHANGES IN 2021. TRAIL MARKERS AND SIGNPOSTED INFORMATION WILL BE REMOVED. However, it is still possible to hike here. Fornstigen is a signposted cultural trail that tells about the long history of the Årsta castle area. It is a longer walk in the castle's wider surroundings and goes through beautiful, hilly nature. The signs on the trail tell you about the Iron Age, the Viking Age, runic carvings, the spring casket, the Teutonic Order and Årsta Castle. The walk starts at Blistastenen, near the parking lot and bus stop. The ancient trail is marked with red trail markers. The paths go partly through a golf course area, so watch out for golf balls. Remember that ancient monuments are protected by law. It is forbidden to dig or otherwise damage ancient remains.
