Cykeltips förbi Kungen och Stadsministern

The bike ride starts just a short distance from Stenhammar Castle. The castle was built as early as 1658 but got its current appearance in the mid-1800s. Today, modern agriculture and forestry are carried out on the property and since 2005 there has been extensive animal husbandry with ecological signs. Take the opportunity to take a small turn on the road around the castle.

At the crossroads where it turns into a gravel road, head towards Sköldinge. Soon you will see a farm on your right and Lake Valdemaren on your left. Oak hills are interspersed with juniper hills, clover fields and rolling cornfields.

On the way you are welcomed to Prästens hage, an idyllic bathing place along Lake Valdemaren.

At the crossroads when the asphalt takes over again, choose Floda and drive in the direction of the church which is well worth a visit. Floda church - the cathedral in the country, a full 67 m high. The trip is long and here we would highly recommend staying overnight at the old Prästgården in Floda - just as Gustav Wasa did already in 1549.

If you choose to cycle without an overnight stay, then drive towards Hälleforsnäs. Follow the road, here coniferous forest and moss-covered rocks are mixed, real troll forest.

Here it's time for a little break, Stötta sten, a natural phenomenon. Here you can read the legend of Stötta sten where the road is culturally protected.

Flower meadows and mixed forest and the most beautiful views here you have just Granheds village farm on the left.

After a few kilometers you come to Granhed. A small village with preserved red-colored buildings, single and semi-detached cottages.

The next crossroads is a small roundabout, choose to cycle towards Mellösa. Here you have Lake Mellösasjön on your right, wonderful view - enjoy!

Harpsund, recreational residence of Sweden's city minister. The farm and its agriculture and forestry were bequeathed to the state in 1953 by August Vicander. Harpsund's property is farmed with a large cow herd and when you cycle out of the area you have a beautiful old stone wall on your left with magnificent gate posts.

A sign shows the way to Teater Klämman. Perhaps something exciting is on the program just as you pass. A welcoming cultural oasis!

Back to the road towards Mellösa. Here is the Pryl - and Flea Market throughout the summer period. Just Mellösa church village with homestead and church. Time to swim! Behind the church the road leads to another bathing place.

Drive over the railroad to Flensvägen. Beautiful buildings and lovely nature. Keep left on about 6 km long country road to Flen. Cycle to central Flen and turn off towards Drottninggatan to return to the start.
