Åsa gravfält, Natura 2000 område

The burial ground on Selaön is one of Södermanland's largest preserved burial grounds from the Late Iron Age.

The most famous ancient monument is a ship's settlement of originally 24 erected stones, called Åsa domarsäte.

In spring, many visitors are attracted to view the rare and protected honeysuckle that blooms here.

The Åsa burial ground is protected as a Natura 2000 site.

In Sweden there are over 5,000 nature reserves and over 4,000 different Natura 2000 sites. Some of these are both nature reserves and Natura 2000 areas.
