Utemuseum Årummet

A stone's throw from central Kristianstad is the Årummet nature reserve, and in the middle of Årummet is the Vattenriket nature center. Just outside the nature center begins the path that goes to the Årummet Outdoor Museum. The wide path leads through reeds and willows.

Utemuseum Årummet is a hideout where you can watch the wildlife in the naturum lake from the front row. Glasses at different heights provide a nice view of the wetlands, the nature center and the city. There is also an exhibition of carved wooden figures and signs.

The hide gives you close contact with the River Helge å and a lovely wilderness feeling in the middle of the city. In winter you can see otters and kingfishers. In summer, the dense greenery is brightened up by goldenrod, torch flowers and sword lily.

The Årummet nature reserve was opened in 2012 to preserve and develop a mosaic of different wetland environments. The reserve spans reed beds, willow thickets and tall herb meadows along the River Helgeån and the wetlands, from the railway bridge south of Tivoli Park to Härlövsängaleden in the north.

The uniqueness of Årummet is its location close to the city, which makes the area easily accessible to many. The Linnérundan and Tivolirundan hiking trails give visitors the opportunity to see several rare plants and animals that live in Årummet's floodplains.
