Beskrivelse
The Kattedal brickworks are said to have existed since the late 17th century. In 1788, 84 000 bricks were produced for sale and "free bricks" for the people on the farm. In 1801, 100 000 bricks were produced. In 1838 or 39, it is recorded that 40,000 roof tiles and 60,000 bricks were delivered that year, in addition to what was used for the farm's (Fogelvik's) own needs. Flower pots were also produced.
A brickmaker Mattias Sjöström and his wife Catharina Stefansdotter are mentioned in 1770. Brickmaker Anders Friström is mentioned in 1809. There are clear traces of clay pits around the above brick kiln and also in the pasture south of Strömsborg, about 400 meters from here. With certainty, the production was still there in 1857 and probably the mill was closed at the end of the 19th century. The ruin of the "apartment Tegelbruket" is approx. 100 m. sv. of the brick kiln.
Appears in the house hearing list ff. 1860, when the worker Carl Johan Jaensson, his wife Anna Brita Andersdotter and the children Carl Gustaf, Anders Anton and Carolina Wilhelmina move here. The last person to live here was the widow Emelie Augusta Eriksson, who died on October 18, 1919. The house was probably still there in 1921.
