Beskrivelse
This rather impressive irrigation channel is difficult to date. Drill holes in some of the stones indicate that it may date from the 18th century. However, it is most likely that it was built during the first part of the 19th century, when Måns Trysén, who was very enterprising and resourceful, owned Brantsbo. It got its water from Sarvgölen approx. 500 m. west. The excavated stretch is over 200 m. and impressively terraced by means of a stone wall towards the end. It can be assumed that, at least in the bends, the canal was provided with plank walls to prevent soil erosion when the water came flowing. The purpose of the construction seems to have been to irrigate the steeply sloping meadow (now field) with sandy soil at the end of the canal.
