Beskrivelse
Dábmukjávrre is an untouched natural pine forest that has been allowed to grow freely for hundreds of years. Here, you can find gnarled, flat-crowned old pines and thick, hollow high stumps that provide nesting sites for many bird species. The area is difficult to traverse due to large boulders and steep slopes, which have protected the forest from clear-cutting. The varied terrain, with a sharply sloping northeastern edge and a small stream flowing through the swamp forest, creates a unique environment where spruce, birch, alder, and willow thrive.
The dead wood in Dábmukjávrre, in various stages of decomposition, provides habitat for rare and endangered species such as the dwarf cup lichen and the spotted polypore. Historical fires have shaped the forest and left traces on the dead wood. Despite the lack of marked trails, visitors can explore this natural forest on their own and enjoy its rich natural values and unique experiences, where both large and small nature encounters await.
