Sandängesstranden, known as Gläntan, is Piteborna's own favorite spot. It is a lovely long beach with fine-grained sand and shallow water, a destination for a winter walk and to enjoy the beach views during the cold seasons. Here you will find fireplaces, firewood, benches and tables. The beach is easily accessible for those with limited mobility thanks to sturdy footbridges/ramps, and wheelchair users can get all the way to the sturdy fire pit. At the fireplace there are also information signs about the nature reserve and Piteås archipelago. Drive from the center towards Pite havsbad on road 506 follow the signs Sandängesstranden nature reserve.
Water sampling is carried out by Piteå municipality, the bathing area is classified as an EU bath.

Gläntan ingår även i Sandängesstranden, ett av de två kommunala naturreservaten i Piteå. Sandängesstranden är ett 270 hektar stort naturreservat i Piteå. Området ligger mellan Pite havsbad och Haraholmen. Som en del i reservatet finns det vi känner till som badstranden Gläntan. Totalt är Sandängesstranden 2,5 km lång och i snitt 1,5 km bred.
