Sjöamellan

Walk the small forest road along Sjöamellan and you seem to be transported to a Norrland marsh. From a fine bird tower, the wildlife is revealed. At dusk and dawn you see moose grazing on the lush marsh grass. Crane, whooper swan, black grouse, cuckoo and snipe are part of the soundscape, and almost every spring snipe play. The peculiar sound of the snipe easily brings to mind a galloping horse. Spotted Crake, Water Rail and Pearl-bordered Owl have also been heard in the area. In the spring, whooper swans and ducks rest. During the winter months, wolf birds are often seen. At the marker on the map you will find the bird tower. At the Norralund croft there is a small parking lot. Here also begins a clear forest road that about 1km reaches Sjöamellan's southeasternmost part as well as a bird tower.
