Ingebo Hagar - Gröna leden

Ingebo Hagar's newest hiking trail is 1.4 km and starts at the information board near the parking lot. The path down to the cold spring, which never runs out, has been hidden for over 70 years and has now been carefully cleared. A new fence has been built where the old one was already in place at the time of the legal shift. Next to the path is the old village dump. Here you can see rubbish from the 1970s and back to the turn of the century. This is how it was done in those days, today the garbage truck comes every two weeks instead.

When you step over the stile, you pass into a sheep pen and then into another. Here you now see one of the village's three crayfish ponds, which were built about 30 years ago. In the past, Swedish crayfish were delivered from here to Östermalmshallen in Stockholm. Turn around the pond and now take aim at the large oak tree. Behind it, step over a stile and out into a mixed birch and pine forest. Turn right after this and look a little further ahead for cairns that date back to the time when the forest was burned for cultivation.

Then turn right onto a narrow forest road. After about 100 meters it is time to turn right again. The path now zigzags up the hill in the pine forest. Soon you will find a "lying hen". That's what moving blocks are called, from the Ice Age, resting on three stones. The path leads you down to the old spruce forest. A bit ahead, next to the mighty seed pines, Carl Linnaeus' favorite flower Linnaeus blooms in early summer. This small, delicate woody plant belongs to the group of rice and dwarf shrubs and is Småland's landscape flower. Stop and smell its almond-like scent!

At the edge of the woodland, turn right and after about 20 meters right again. Follow the stream through the dense young forest until you reach a stile that takes you out into "Gubbekärret". The name may remind you of some poor "old man" from the village who had an accident in this water-rich soil. In order not to get your feet wet, the trail turns over a stile on slightly firmer ground. Soon you arrive at the crayfish ponds again and if you walk away over the dam's embankment, you will soon be up in the village again.
