The Marieholm Canal is the ideal place for those who have never paddled before.

From Marieholm to Hillerstorp it is about 10 km paddling on Marieholmskanalen via lakes Mosjön and Flaten. Here you can count on about three hours of paddling the entire distance at a leisurely pace. If you add one or more stops along the way, you can count on half a day. The canal is of course a big part of the experience, but there is also the opportunity to experience what it is like to step ashore on a deserted island. Mosjön has two large islands to explore for this purpose and in Flaten you can step ashore on Holmön (not during nesting 1/4-15/7). Lake Flaten is also home to Flatenbadet with its shallow beach, mini golf and simple refreshments.

From Flaten at the village of Uppebo you can explore Storån upstream. With a couple of lifts, there is the possibility of being able to paddle many more kilometers upstream via, among other things, Långasjön at Åker. There you will find both a swimming area and a barbecue area. Bring a tent and provisions and you can explore the surroundings for several days. Of course, you can paddle back and forth or just part of the route but the possibilities are endless. For the adventurous, you could paddle out into the world as the canal from Hillerstorp continues into Storån which in turn goes all the way down to Bolmen where you can then paddle on in Laganleden which flows into Laholmsbukten.
