Beskrivelse
Många ovanliga växter och marksvampar växer i de fuktiga och näringsrika markerna. I den över hundra år gamla skogen trivs också många vedsvampar. Genom reservatet löper en markerad stig, kanske har du turen att stöta på fåglar som lavskrika eller tretåig hackspett på din vandring!

Veibeskrivelse
From Östersund you drive via Frösön over Vallsundsbron. After the bridge turn left towards Marieby. From Marieby church you drive another 1 km until you come to a smaller road on the right. If you follow this road for about 1 km you will arrive at Bye kalkbarrskog.
Forskrifter
Welcome to Bye limestone coniferous forest. Keep in mind that in the reserve it is not allowed to:
- capture, disturb or harm mammals, birds, frogs and reptiles, as well as damage their nests and spawning grounds or collect eggs,
- pick and collect species of any kind, except berries and edible mushrooms
- climbing nest trees or deliberately staying closer than 100 meters to a bird of prey's nest, roost or burrow
- damage to the ground, boulders, vegetation, dry trees or other dead wood
- make fires, except in specially designated places, if available
- drive a motorized vehicle off-road
Other rules apply if you want to conduct any kind of activity in the area, see the relevant reserve decision for full regulations. There may also be other laws to take into account, such as the Reindeer Husbandry Act.
