Beskrivelse
Musåns nature reserve is a beautiful area that includes stretches of the Musån and Spräckabäcken streams. The streams are home to the red-listed species river pearl mussel and skirmosa. There are a few different paths through the area that are easy to get around on.
The river pearl mussel requires, among other things, clean flowing water and the umbrella moss is sensitive to drying out and thus wants a border of forest that reduces exposure to sun and wind.
The forest in the reserve
The forest consists of a mixture of beech forest, swamp forest, mixed forest and spruce forest. In the southern parts you can enjoy a beautiful old earth cellar, small fences, mill remains and an old garnet mine. If you look closely, you can even see pomegranates in the stone scree. (You are not allowed to take any of these home with you.)
Getting around the reserve
There are a few different paths through the area that are easy to get around on. If you want to enjoy the rushing water or the more calm flowing stretches, you can get around via the trails. It is also relatively easy to get around on your own in the forest, albeit hilly in places.

Car: From Vessigebro, drive towards Sjönevad and continue for about 8 km. There is no parking in the reserve.
Forskrifter
To protect the nature reserve, the County Administrative Board has decided on special regulations, including those that you as a visitor to the area must follow and respect.
In addition to what applies under other legislation, it is forbidden to:
- damage living or dead trees, bushes and branches,
- damage, pick or collect mosses, lichens or fungi other than single specimens. However, it is permitted to pick edible mushrooms.
- drive a motorized vehicle other than on a road or park other than in a designated place,
- moving gravel, stones or boulders or damming the watercourse
- breaking, crushing, removing or painting stones and minerals
- put up a picture, poster, sign or make an inscription,
- planting species alien to the area without the permission of the County Administrative Board
- without the permission of the County Administrative Board, carry out surveys that involve marking, collection, trapping or other impact on the natural environment. However, this permit requirement does not apply to plants, berries and edible fungi and not to the collection and killing of invertebrates if the collection is required for a reliable species identification to take place, it is done manually by picking, scooping or equivalent (i.e. not with traps) and it is done without damaging bark, wood or other substrates.
