Beskrivelse
Gäddevik is located on the shore of Lygnn and consists of two wooded headlands that jut out into the lake. The reserve is beautiful to visit in the spring, when the beech trees' newly emerged leaves provide a delicate greenery. A hiking trail of about 1.5 kilometers is located on the northern headland. In summer, you can swim from both the sandy beach and the rocks.
Gäddevik has crevice valleys, rocky beaches, rocky outcrops, watercourses, stream valleys and valuable broadleaf forests. The reserve consists largely of oak and beech forests, but there are also smaller areas of mixed deciduous forest and deciduous swamp forest. A small part of Lake Lygnern is also included in the reserve.
Plants in the reserve
The soil is poor and we mainly find common species such as resinous acid and creeping thistle in the reserve. But in the northeast, the forest is a little more nutritious and here grows, among other things, forest bengal, dwarf horsetail and umbellifer.
Red-listed species
Many unusual lichens, mosses and fungi grow on the older beech trees in the reserve. Some of the threatened species found here are the gray lichen, the barley moss and the pink lichen. Another interesting species found is the sea lichen, which is red-listed as critically endangered.
Gäddevik also has a rich wildlife and the reserve has been found to contain the red-listed species lamella snail. The wood pigeon also nests here.
Toilet and fireplaces
There is a toilet at the parking lot. There are two fireplaces in the reserve. At each fireplace there is a wood store that is replenished at regular intervals.

Forskrifter
To protect the nature reserve, the County Administrative Board has decided on special regulations, including those that you as a visitor to the area must follow and respect.
In addition to what applies under other legislation, it is forbidden to:
- damage living or dead standing or lying trees and bushes,
- damage, pick or collect herbs, mosses, lichens or fungi. However, picking berries and edible mushrooms is allowed,
- camping,
- set up a caravan or motorhome in the reserve between 22-06,
- make fires, other than in the designated area,
- drive a motorized vehicle in the terrain, the prohibition does not apply to hunting rights holders when transporting fallen game,
- collect insects, spiders, shells and other invertebrates without the permission of the County Administrative Board,
- organize camps or competitions without the permission of the County Administrative Board,
- put up a painting, poster, sign or make an inscription
- without the permission of the County Administrative Board, conduct scientific research that contravenes the regulations, and
- bring an unleashed dog, with the exception of hunting with dogs or for searching.
