Äskhult – Stättared, Hallandsleden

Before continuing on the Hallandsleden trail, a visit to the 18th century village of Äskhult is recommended. Buildings and the landscape show what smaller villages looked like two hundred years ago. The Hallandsleden trail first goes over some hills before it comes down to the fertile Löftaån valley. The rest of the hike to the nutrient-poor clear water lake Stora Hornsjö goes in a fairly hilly terrain with both deciduous and coniferous forest. Sometimes you walk on a pure rocky ground.
