OlJons, Långhed

Here is a picture of Långhed, taken at the turn of the century 1900

A picture showing how the harvest is hung on sneses and hässjor to dry. We see the important Hässjaån river flowing through the village and fine fences / snow gardens. By fencing around the farm, the animals were kept away from grazing on the valuable grass.

To the right in the picture we see OlJons, Långhed 4, where the main building is now painted white. A large main building, two wings, a threshing barn and several hearths. The barn is behind the threshing barn.

To the left in the front of the picture is the large threshing barn at Sares pond with a flax barn to the right. Beyond the bank are a few more threshing barns and flax sheds that probably belonged to another property. The Sares farm, Långhed 5, was built around 1925 in the forest grove on the right after moving from the original site where a building remains today in 2025.

In the middle of the picture, above the grove, is the Hansgårds farm, Långhed 17. To the right of the white main building is the property's barn.

The large white building with a hipped roof to the left of the picture is Nygårds, Långhed 16:2. To the left of Nygårds is ErskErs, Långhed 16.1, today called Ekströms.
