Stor Sten

There are plenty of more or less large stones in our landscape. Some are larger than others and therefore attract more interest than others, as is the case with Stor Sten on Isalanäset in Svärdsjö.

Here there is a giant boulder, 7 meters high and about 30 meters in circumference. A giant throw thrown against the church at some point in the beginning of time. The giant was not so bad at aiming, he missed the church by only a few hundred meters.

Another legend says that the children come from the stone. Whether this is due to a lack of storks in the area is left unsaid...

Stor Sten was declared a natural monument in 1931, at the suggestion of Karl-Erik Forslund, who describes the boulder in his book "Dalälven - från källorna till havet".
