Vesan - drönarfilm om Biosfärområdets kultur- och naturlandskap

Experience Blekinge's coast as the birds see it...

Vesan is today an agricultural plain, but until about 1924 it was a large wetland with a lake in the middle. Gammelstorp church was built on an island in the middle. In 1924, a large dewatering project started, and since then water has to be pumped out of the Vesan to prevent it from rising again.

The film is commented in Swedish, but there is also the option to add English subtitles in the menu.

This film is part of a series of drone films that the organisation Blekinge Archipelago produced to increase knowledge about the connection between the natural and cultural environments in the Biosphere Reserve. Through these films, it is possible to experience a number of known and unknown areas along Blekinge's coast - in the way that perhaps a sea eagle sees the coast. In the films, we mix information and images concerning both culture and nature.

These films can be used in several different ways, for example to be inspired to further journeys within the Biosphere area at home in the warmth of the cabin. But also during a hike or kayaking, you can get a wider overview of the area you are in directly via the ARK56 app.
