Hökensås sportfiske

**Silence, peace and quiet are sought by many.

Since 1957, Hökensås Sportfiske has been running sport fishing tourism in the area. Here on the Hökensås ridge, about 45 km north of Jönköping and 15 km south of Tidaholm, there is silence. The area is strongly characterized by the remains of the inland ice, where powerful sand deposits have shaped the area with ridge formations and dead ice pits. Many lakes are crystal clear spring lakes, but there are also forest lakes with darker water. The raven is a characteristic bird in the area, where the Eurasian bittern and black-necked grebe also nest, but the pearl owl, capercaillie and lapwing also thrive. The nature is reminiscent of the pine forest areas of lower Norrland with its barren design.

Hökensås Sportfiske offers fishing mainly for rainbow trout, brown trout and char. We mainly stock rainbow trout, but trout are also stocked continuously in all waters. The ratio of 80% rainbow trout and 20% trout is a balance we try to keep. In some lakes there are also natural populations of pike, perch, roach and tench.

Fishing is mainly done from land and wading works in most places. There are also jetties at some lakes, two of which have jetties adapted for the disabled. It is also possible to rent boats in five lakes in the area.

The lakes are divided according to fishing methods - fly fishing, spin fishing and angling. Some lakes have quotas and are only available for fly fishing, while others are rental lakes and can be rented for companies or groups. In winter, ice fishing is carried out in all short lakes, but not in the quota lakes or rental lakes.
