Sundängen does not have its own parking lot, but the nature reserve is located next to Västerås Camping Ängsö where it is possible to park before the camping area.

Sundängen is accessible by bike and car.

If you are coming from Västerås, take the E18 at Hällamotet, exit 139: drive on Stockholmsvägen for about 8.3 kilometers, through Irsta and past Panko. Turn right towards Kungsbyn. Drive about 5.5 kilometers and turn right towards Västerås Camping Ängsö which is located just by Sundängen.

There are rules that you as a visitor must follow. The rules are there to protect the area's natural values.

It is forbidden to:

• drive motorized vehicles other than on designated roads,
• setting up a caravan or motorhome
• camping,
• moor or moor a boat in the same area for more than two consecutive days,
• ride on marked trails according to the established management plan and which have been prepared for hiking,
• making fires
• making disturbing noises, for example with a radio, gramophone, tape recorder, model airplane or similar
• damaging or destroying rocks (for example by burning, rock drilling, painting, carving inscriptions, etc,)
• breaking branches, felling or otherwise damaging living or dead trees and shrubs and otherwise damaging vegetation, for example by digging up plants
• picking plants with the exception of edible mushrooms and berries
• collecting invertebrates (invertebrates)
• collecting or deliberately killing or harming amphibians and reptiles. However, adders on land may be removed,
• deliberately disturbing wildlife, for example by climbing nest trees or taking close-up photographs of nest sites
• landing and taking off with an aircraft
• bringing dogs or other pets that are not on a leash.
