Stengärdet is located south of Kungsör along road 56. Turn off the E20 in Kungsör towards Norrköping on road 56. After 4.7 kilometers, the nature reserve is on the right.

There are rules that you as a visitor must follow. The rules are there to protect the area's natural values.

It is forbidden to:

• ride a bicycle or horse
• drive motorized vehicles other than on the designated parking area and forest road
• make fires other than in the designated area
• park a motor vehicle, caravan or trailer for more than one consecutive day
• climbing trees or otherwise intentionally disturbing wildlife
• felling or otherwise damaging living or dead trees and shrubs and damaging vegetation or natural objects in general, for example by collecting herbs, grasses, mosses, fungi or lichens, with the exception of berries and edible mushrooms for domestic use
• collecting insects or other invertebrates
• using a radio or other sound device in a disruptive manner
• affixing a board, sign, poster, orienteering control, other markings or permanently marking trails
• use the area for organized competition or practice purposes or equivalent
• bring an unleashed dog or other stray pet
