Description

The Hälleskog burn is part of the area affected by the great forest fire of summer 2014. In the wake of the fire, the first green plants are emerging and animals and birds have returned. It is both fascinating and frightening to see how dramatically the forces of nature have changed the landscape. After a forest fire, a special environment emerges where a large number of very rare and threatened species thrive. In Hälleskogsbrännan, you can follow the exciting change in nature that will last for many years to come.

Hälleskogsbrännan has ten special visitor destinations:

Badger Mountain:

The main visitor site with trails, lookout tower, restroom, outdoor classroom and barbecue area. You can get to the lookout tower with a wheelchair and stroller, but not up the tower.

Acktjärnen:

A forest road leads to Acktjärnen, where there is a barbecue area.

Björktjärnen:

A path leading to Björktjärnen, where there is a barbecue area.

Brandstigen:

A path leading across the clearing and into the forest where the forest fire started. There are barbecue areas along the way. The path continues into the nature reserve Fermansbo urskog.

Beaver trail:

A path for children that is right next to the road to Grävlingsberget.

Gottriksstigen:

A trail that leads to an old sawmill site.

Hällestigen:

A trail that goes through the fire-affected forest.

Coaling Site:

Here you can see a charcoal pit and remains of an old charcoal hut next to the road.

Stargazing:

Here there are benches adapted for watching the night sky.

Uvstigen:

A steep path through the well and unbroken forest.

When visiting the area, keep in mind that in the fire-affected forest, soil layers and roots have burned up and the trees therefore do not have as much hold on the ground. Trees and branches are slightly more likely to fall in the fire-affected forest than in a normal forest - especially if it is windy.

Reports (pdf) from the archaeological and cultural history inventories carried out in the area are available on the County Administrative Board's website:

på plats med hela familjen en fin sommardag. Imponerad av hur fint man ställt iordning grillplatser och grävlingsberget. Vi besökte Grävlingsberget i början på 2016, och då var det bara grillplatsen på plats. vilken förvandling.
