The flag at the top of Södra Stadsberget was erected in 1903 by W.F. Brothers at the 25th anniversary of the Sundsvall Lodge.
At the 100-year celebration in 1978, the flag was restored and rededicated.
In 1989, the flag was moved in connection with the expansion of Hotel Södra Berget.
