STF Skutskepparn and Högbondens Fyr

Skutskepparn is located in Barsta in Nordingrå parish. Barsta was one of Gävle's early fishing villages and was first mentioned as early as 1418. The fishing tradition has been strong in the area, but nowadays the harbor is a marina and during the season also the home port of m/s RONJA, which takes guests out to the island Högbonden and Högbondens lighthouse.

Skutskepparn Kuststation has existed as a building since the 1930s, when it was used as the local carpentry and boatbuilding workshop with the ships in the harbor as a backdrop. In the 1990s, the premises were rebuilt to become a restaurant and 8 rooms were furnished upstairs for rent. Skutskepparn also offers the possibility of staying overnight in a picturesquely decorated small boathouse.

This bed and breakfast has 7 double rooms and 2 triple rooms with a total of 20 beds (including the boathouse). Breakfast and sheets are included in all rooms. Guests share 2 showers and 2 toilets. The boathouse currently has access to showers and toilets in the basement of Skutskepparn approx. 40 meters from the boathouse.

Rhode and Örjan, who run Skutskepparns coastal station, also run a small farm with about fifteen cows, two horses, chickens, cats and dogs. Animals and nature are close to their hearts and have therefore chosen to welcome dogs in all rooms, which also means that most of the overnight guests bring their dog with them. You are also welcome to bring your four-legged friend if you want to eat in the restaurant, as long as it is on a leash and you know that your dog thrives in the company of many people and possibly with other dogs. It is also possible to sit outside if that is more convenient.
