Description

Multråberget is a classic excursion destination in Sollefteå with a fantastic view located about 5 km east of Sollefteå. There are several ways to get to the top. The shorter variant is approx. 1.5 km long and starts from a parking lot opposite Multrå church. The trail is quite steep and involves hiking more or less straight up to the top of the mountain.

An alternative for those who want to hike longer is to start at the RUIF cabin in Sollefteå and follow blue signs along forest trails that pass over Skedomsberget and further up Multråberget from the back.

Whichever trail you choose, the top of Multråberget offers spectacular views towards Sollefteå. There is a pavilion here, and via paths at the top it is possible to find an old spring case that in the past would be used to signal approaching danger by lighting it on fire. There is also a high vertigo-inducing precipice at the top. Perhaps even more dizzying is the fact that several tightrope walkers in the 1950s practiced their skills on ropes strung right next to the cliff!
