Promenadslinga Ljungaverk 1,5 km

The long hiking trail St. Olovsleden passes through Ljungaverk. If you want to go for a short walk that partly follows the trail, you can go down Storholmsvägen from Ljungavägen. Just before the road goes under the bridge, the hiking trail turns off on a path to the right. It follows the river nicely through the forest and is marked with special posts (see picture). The path comes up further west on Ljungavägen and you follow the road back. The loop is blue and approx. 1.6 km. For a longer round, follow Folketshusvägen towards the school and take off on Ringvägen. At the intersection with Risavägen, keep left and then right immediately. You then come on a narrow, fairly straight gravel road that runs alongside the river. Soon you get a view of the rapids. If you are walking with a walker or stroller and need a green round, continue along the gravel road to the bridge. If, on the other hand, you want to walk a little on the path and get nicer views of the water, you can take a blue "detour". Then you follow the path that goes down to a shelter near the rapids. There are also bench tables and a fireplace. Continue following the path along the river past the next shelter. Then turn left at the path junction back up the gravel road. Cross the bridge to Johannisberg and turn right. If you want to walk a green round, follow the Ljungan road back. The entire green round is 5.3 km. If you want to walk more on the path, you can walk another blue "detour". Namely the part of St. Olovsleden described in the first paragraph. You turn down a path diagonally opposite Ångsvägen. It runs beautifully along the rapids through a nice wooded area and arrives at Storholmsvägen, where you can turn right to go up to Ljungavägen. The whole green route plus the two blue "detours" is 6 km. Parking is available at Folkets hus if you drive and bus 191 stops at several places along Ljungavägen.
