Description

**Ådalsleden

Starting in Kullberg and ending in Ed, you can complete this fantastic hike along an approximately 10-mile long wilderness trail that passes both rock carvings and cultural reserves.

Follow the yellow markings (red where the trail joins Kyrkvägen from Eden and Ridvägen Mo-Näsåker) and signs marked "Hiking in Västernorrland Ådalsleden". The trail can be unclear at times so a map is highly recommended to ensure proper navigation.

Good shoes and a pair of extra socks are a hot tip as the trail sometimes passes through wet terrain. At the end of the hike, this trail merges with Nipleden, so for those who want to continue experiencing Ådalen's unique nature on foot, just keep hiking.

**Suitable stages

Kullberg - Junsele, approx. 2 miles

Passes over the dam at Degerforsens power plant and along paths that are beautifully located next to the river.

Mo-Mjösjön, approx. 14 km

Goes along the Ridvägen, a trail that was used for centuries to get to Lappmarken and is also referred to as "Vägen till fiells". It has not been used as a route since the 1840s and now consists exclusively of forest paths. Along the way, there is, among other things, a historical health spring clearly marked with an information sign.

Mjösjön-Vigdsjön, approx.15 km

A partly limited marked stage that largely goes along a snowmobile trail and passes marshland. Take the opportunity to stop in Fransåsen, an old resting place where there was an inn. Now you'll find a shelter, overnight accommodation and an outhouse, plus a fantastic view of the land.

Vigdsjön-Näsåker, approx. 11 km

The trail is mainly along roads but also in fine pine forest.

Näsåker/Nämforsen-Mo Power Station, approx. 13 km

The trail starts from Nämforsen where you can also take the opportunity to view one of the largest rock carving sites in Europe. Along the route there are several barbecue areas and also a sauna a few kilometers downstream of the rapids.

Mo power station-Myregården, approx. 6 km

This stage also passes a power plant dam, in this case Mo power station. Via an asphalt road you reach Myregården in Resele.

Myregården-Forsmo, approx. 15 km

Here the trail continues along the winding tourist road with its lovely views to Forsmo where a bridge crosses the Ångerman River. Here Ådalsleden connects to Nipleden and continues on towards Sollefteå.

Forsmo-Sollefteå, approx. 12 km

The last stretch to Sollefteå runs along the Nipleden trail, which means that you can choose between walking along the north or south side of the river.
