Södra Sytertoppen

The hike to the top goes via Kobåsen, and the suitable starting point is Fjällparken.

Follow the path that starts with a footbridge from Kungsleden, on the bog above Centrumliften, towards Kobåsen. The path disappears after a few kilometers along Kobåsbäcken. At 1100 meters you come to a beautiful meadow, and here it is usually appropriate to wade across the stream. From here up to the top you follow the northern side of the stream, lined with steep mountain sides.

The valley rises slowly uphill. But at 1400 m it starts to get steeper and rocky for real. Keep your eyes open and walk carefully. If it has rained it can be slippery.

Turn north towards the summit before the small plateau in the pass between peaks 1685 and 1644. Plan your route and choose the least steep part of the slope.

South Sytertoppen is located at the western end of the ridge. The summit cairn is on the edge of a precipice where you can see the reindeer herder's hut at the bottom of Syterskalet as a small dot 800 meters below the summit. Great view in clear weather.

This tour proposal takes the same route back, through Kobåsen. Of course, you can follow the ridge back towards Storkittelhobben and Kungsliften's peak or choose the route over Mohtserenjuenie and the peaks 1644 m, 1524 m and 1305 m. These options are considerably more difficult and time consuming.

These routes require a map and compass and good orientation skills as they are mostly without paths or trails.
